Benton, WI is a town of only 998 people but one with enormous pride. People from throughout the community have come together to raise the funds needed to build a library, museum and community center on Main Street. The Village made the initial gift and will use a USDA loan for the $2.6 million project. They also need to raise $1,500,000 in contributions. After only 5 months they have raised more than $900,000. This includes gifts to recognize women throughout the community through the national 100 Extraordinary Women fund raising program. More than 125 people have made gifts or 5 year pledges of $1000 ($200 per year or $18 per month) in their own names or to honor or remember a woman who is special to them, raising $125,000. These photographs show how much fun they are having with this part of the campaign. For additional information on how you can do this in your community click here.
