Be one of 100 women making a bold investment in Beloit’s future.

Beloit Public Library and its Foundation are launching Discovery PLAYce—a transformative, 5,300-square-foot early childhood learning lab designed to support children ages 0–6 and their caregivers. Through hands-on, research-based learning play stations, bilingual story corners, and targeted programming, Discovery PLAYce will help build early literacy, school readiness, and caregiver confidence.

Why it matters:
In Beloit, 88% of third graders read below grade level. Many children begin kindergarten without the basic skills they need to succeed. Discovery PLAYce directly addresses this challenge by equipping families with tools to support brain development and lifelong learning—starting at birth.

Your $1,000 gift will help fund:

  • Interactive, culturally responsive learning exhibits;
  • Five years of staff-led programming and outreach;
  • Community pop-up play kits; and
  • Ongoing evaluation to ensure measurable impact.

This project is part of a larger $4.15 million campaign, with more than $1 million already secured. A state grant will fund the renovation of the physical space—but not the exhibits, programming, or evaluation. That’s where you come in.
